This project is a collaboration between Salve Floresta and the "European Travel Insurance Group from Germany"

 

13.10.2005 it was finally time to open the Botanicum in the presence of numerous guests from Germany and Brazil. This laboratory gives schoolchildren in the region a better opportunity to learn about plants and animals of the rain forest. Cultured from medical plants, they should learn to make simple medicines, such as cough syrup and many others. Also students and interested people have access to the laboratory to research and study.

 

 

Our interestis to set up primarily an environmental education program for children in cooperation with the forest police of the State of São Paulo and the schools in the region. Many poor children can learn much about the fauna and flora of their own country.

 

 

With walks, explanations and games, children learn to appreciate the rain forest, and to protect it later.
